Retro cool

We've just had this car through the studio at 4Star Classics. It's a '73 BMW 3.0 CSL, and apparently a fast appreciating classic. Oli just reckons it's one of the most beautiful cars he's shot. Simple, clean and effortlessly stylish.

Hasselblad behind the scenes

Here's a video, put together by Mark Witney from Hasselblad UK, of the recent studio shoot for Victor.

Folio for Hasselblad

Oli has a folio of shots taken in the new Hasselblad Studio for Victor. Hasselblad wanted to showcase the studio, and so let him loose with a couple of bikes. The result, shot over two days shows a contrast between hi-key white super sports BMW, and a pretty mean looking lo-key matt black Harley. The full set of pictures can be seen in Victor online

Different View

Been trying out the vertical down shooting position in the new studio, and we're pretty happy with the results. The car is a Ferrari 512BB for those that couldn't guess.

Shooting season.

Spot the difference! Oli's been in the studio doing a series of shots of an armoured Land Rover Defender, for RMA Automotive. The car was subjected to two weeks of ballistic testing (trying to puncture the armour with AK47 and M16 rounds), followed by an attempt to blow it up with 4 German hand-grenades. Happily for any would be occupants, the car passed all the tests with flying colours, and many like it will no doubt be coming soon to a war zone near you.

Studio go!

Oli's new studio venture in association with classic car showroom 4 Star Classics is finally up and running. They built a four sided fully coved space to shoot the classic 70's and 80's sports cars that 4 Star deal in and provided a fantastic space for Oli to shoot his own studio work.

Eco Ring

The idea of a car built for economy being any fun to drive was put to the test when Oli was asked to do an advertorial brochure for Seat featuring their Leon Ecomotion. He and the team decided to take the car to the Nurburgring circuit in Germany and see if they could prove a point and get some fun pictures to illustrate it. Yes actually it was a laugh, particularly in the wet when some pretty expensive hypercars were busy spinning into the armco barrier as the Seat sailed serenely by using all of it's 100 bhp.

Luxury Travel

Oli has just completed a series of pictures for Jaguar Cars, featuring the new XJ limousine. The shots were taken at St Andrews in Scotland. Early starts and late finishes meant no sloping off for a quick round of golf unfortunately!

Desert Trails

Oli has just returned from a trip to the desert of southern Morocco. He was there to shoot brochure pictures for Honda Redtread trail tour company. Not only did he have to provide pictures he also rode one of their CRF450X motorcycles deep into the wilds, over 200kms from any water, electricity or indeed town. He admits to enjoying the riding almost as much as the shooting!
